Summer Show... Part 2

I blogged earlier about the Summer Show, focussing on the work displayed by the members of Common Threads, but that wasn't the only work displayed in our section.

The fabric for these fabulous bags was woven by fellow HNC student Jos, who was inspired by the traditional Kente cloth of West Africa. Aren't they stunning?

We also shared space with the BA students, who were studying Textile Innovation and Surface Design.

Here is Ingrid's print collection, inspired by tiles in a café in Leeds.

This collection of silk scarves is designed by Nicola and is inspired by the coast in the North East.

Zubaida's digital print and laser cut collection of wallpapers and interior decoration is inspired by minerals.

Shawnie;s woven collection is inspired by the geometry found in nature.

Chloe's gorgeous print collection is inspired by nature and is influenced by Japanese design. Her original artwork is stunning.

Finally, here are Janet’s art pieces, inspired by industrial wear and tear.
