Shorthand typist, secretary, police officer – a weird path to becoming a weaver.  Maybe not so weird for someone who has made things with her hands all her life – knitting, crochet, needlepoint, sewing.  Sue is inspired and enthused by pattern and colour and loves dazzling weaves and clashing hues.  She prefers working in natural fibres; silk, wool and linen are favourites.  She also enjoys dyeing, and these days most of her silk yarns are hand-dyed.  She loves the deceptive simplicity of Scandinavian textiles, and could happily spend her life weaving variously striped linen towels.
