#SeptTextileLove Day15: Making Connections
I find that textiles enables me to make connections with many people through many different ways. I took this photo today at the monthly meeting of Cheshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, towards the end of a really interesting talk about and demonstration of indigo and woad dyeing by Debbie Tomkies. Her talk highlighted again how practising our craft makes connections not just to our contemporaries, but to the many people down through the years - including the dyers of yesteryear, the slaves who worked the indigo plantations in the colonies and the industrial chemists searching for synthetic alternatives.
